Use actual roof surface area from a report, or measure the roof’s horizontal footprint and apply the pitch for each section. Interior living area does not include roof overhangs and is not a reliable substitute.
One roofing square (SQ) = 100 square feet. Waste is shown separately.
Find your address and confirm the correct roof, then click each corner. Save one polygon for each pitch. Trace gutter-bearing eaves separately—roof perimeter includes edges that may not have gutters. Hip and valley lengths are horizontal projections until elevations are verified.
Roof pitch examples
Pitch is the rise in inches for every 12 inches of horizontal run. Enter 4 for 4:12, for example.
4:12: lower slope · 6:12: moderate slope · 8:12: steep slope · 10:12: very steep slope · 12:12: a 45-degree slope, among the steep pitches commonly seen on homes.
These examples describe steepness, not whether a roof is safe to walk on. Use a roof report or professional measurement; do not climb onto the roof to estimate pitch.

Ballpark package estimates include material and labor based on your roof measurements and selected shingle package. We confirm tear-off, decking repairs, flashing, ventilation, access, taxes and the exact included scope in your written proposal.
A starting point, not your final price. Vents, pipe boots, flashing and other accessories are not individually accounted for in these totals. Your final cost will likely be higher once those items, roof condition and the full project scope are reviewed on site.
Product photos and manufacturer brochures illustrate options. Warranty terms depend on the exact product and installation; “30-year” and “25-year” descriptions are not a blanket warranty promise.

Metal Ridge vent
Cheaper option, but common choice with 3-tab shingle roofs. Available in black or brown.
Shingle over vented ridge
Slightly higher cost, longer lasting option, typical choice for Architectural shingle roofs. Covered with the same Cap shingles as the rest of your roof.
Your preference is included in your saved estimate summary. Ventilation pricing is confirmed in the final quote and is not added to the ballpark total.

Installation and leaf-guard rates shown apply to single-story homes. Two-story installations require a quote. Downspouts, outlets, corners, access and repairs are reviewed onsite. Gutter guard coverage is measured in linear feet; piece count depends on the chosen product’s section length.
